Our 1st night was an experience. We had a couple of friends stop by to check on Naomi and Shaelynn, only Justin cared how I was doing. Thanks Justin, he also reminded me it's not about me anymore and probably wont be for a long time.
Everything was good up until about midnight when Shaelynn woke up crying and wouldn't stop. We tried so many different things that where shown to us in classes and none of them seemed to work. The only thing that helped was holding and rocking her but I couldn't put her down so I could go back to sleep. Eventually Jamie, our nurse, came in and took over for me so we could sleep. Thank God for her.
When Jamie brought Shaelynn back in the morning she did mention that she was spitting up more than normal and it could be from a variety of things, not being burped enough, the jostling around or too much food. It's kind of a trial by error and find out what's going to help her keep food down. She is getting fed and peeing and pooping so that is good that she is digesting what she is taking in.
This morning Dr. Martin came by and checked the little one out and said that with the spitting up and being our first he'd like us to stay another night. Everything looks good 10 fingers, 10 toes, hearing check out good, eyes are responding to light. They also took her in for her newborn screening and that's why I'm on here now and Naomi is in the shower.
